The goal of "CDS" is to 'Help the Community To Grow.'
- Stanthorpe (Qld) Community Development Services Inc (CDS) is a community resource and referral service which supports people in crisis, assesses community needs and initiates social projects since 1986
- Community Development Services is funded by the Department of Families Queensland through their Community Service Funding Program.
- Community Development Services (CDS) is a community based, non-profit organisation run by a voluntary Main Management Committee consisting of people with diverse skills and links to all sectors of the Community.
- Community Development Services Mission is to help the community grow by developing its capacity to respond to its identified needs.
- Community Development Services has approximately forty volunteers, including the Main Management Committee and Sub-committees

- Youth Development Committee (Stanthorpe Youth Centre)

Services available:
Emergency Relief:
CDS workers administer Emergency Relief Funds in the form of vouchers for essential items such as food, water and medicines.
Community Legal Services:
Stanthorpe Community Legal Service provides free legal advice from local solicitors to members of the community and operates from the Neighbourhood Centre every Thursday by appointment from 10am.
Community Resource Library:
CDS has a library of Community Resources including books, videos, brouchures and information sheets on topics as varied as baby care, stress management, parenting, health issues, budgeting,relationships,domestic violence prevention ,disability issues that may be borrowed free of charge by community members.
Youth Development Service:
This service aims to address a range of identified youth issues via a strategic social and economic development approach.
- Youth participation programs including involvement in community decision-making
- Supporting youth groups and organisations
- Networking with government and non-government agencies as well as the private sector.
- Advocacy and active encouragement of self-help.
- Grant procurement for youth projects and services.
